ABP Mayflower Cruise Liner Terminal

ION provided the technical design and support throughout the project converting an aged ‘shed style’ terminal building into a modern, efficient and secure international cruise terminal.

The works involved the complete replacement of all the M&E services including an upgrade to the incoming energy supplies. The main concourse consists of a fully ventilated fresh air delivery and exhaust system with a VRF based environment control system capable of handling in excess of 3000 people moving through the terminal during the cruise change over periods.

In agreement with the client, all ships were diverted away from the terminal for an agreed period of 6 months whilst the works took place, giving a finite delivery period with no flexibility for extension. The project was successfully completed both on time and on budget.

The scope of the services works included new heating, lighting, ventilation and power services, plus various levels of communications, security, data, CCTV and alarm systems.
